For the fourth year in a row, Business Solution Partners has been recognized by Accounting Today in their annual VAR 100 list. This yearly report ranks the top resellers in the accounting space, and dives into the major issues they’re facing, as well as their strategies for success.

In 2014, BSP debuted on the list at rank #93. Continuing our trend of growth, with a focus on financial automation and cloud based accounting solutions, Business Solution Partners is racing up the list. In 2017, we proudly achieved a rank twenty-one points above our debut - #72!

We’re proud to be recognized as a top Accounting Software Solution Partner in the US, and the only company in the VAR 100 representing the BlackLine stack of Treasury Management solutions. We’re also one of only two companies highlighting our success with Adaptive Insights on the list. Of course, our core competencies in NetSuite and Microsoft Dynamics (GP, CRM & 365) are notable as well.

We’re happy to share our interview questions and answers with you below so you can see why Business Solution Partners is yet again a VAR 100 honoree.

Accounting Today: How have your clients and their needs changed in the last year?

A: The past year has seen many changes to our core business, and the business operations of our client base. The biggest shift we are seeing is the trend towards automation. Whether companies are looking to platforms like HubSpot and Bronto for Marketing Automation, or BlackLine and Adaptive Insights for financial automation, the desire to free human resource capital from tedious, repetitive and error prone tasks is a growing concern. We’re talking more about workflows, “full-cycle” communication, nurturing, automated close processes, data visualizations and overall, a more mature, technical and cloud-based process shift.

AT: Currently, what do you consider your company’s largest obstacle?

A: Business Solution Partners has expended a lot of brain-power in the first two quarters of 2017 to help define our niche specialties and industry vertical targets. Our challenge is to identify those customers who’s processes and pain points are familiar to our team - and those with which the Accounting, Operations and Business Process Consulting experts we employ can bring to bare their extensive experience and unique skills. Focusing our efforts on the highest quality leads while consciously turning away business that does not align with our core expertise is the mountain we seek to summit in 2017.

AT: And your biggest opportunity?

A: The acquisition of NetSuite by Oracle is a paradigm shifting event that will have long term implications across our industry. As companies absorb this new reality, there are a lot of businesses reviewing and re-evaluating their SaaS relationships. We strongly believe that this is an opportunity to reach out to customers who may by confused and have questions about their SaaS deployments, and those looking to make a change of partner to align themselves with service providers that are prepared for, understanding of, and have solutions for their needs.

The other area of opportunity that Business Solution Partners has identified in 2017 is our core competencies with custom development and SaaS integrations. We’re currently involved in a number of projects to connect disparate SaaS platforms through APIs and Webhooks. Sharing data between ERP, CRM, Marketing Automation, Finance Automation and other business process software ensures that companies are utilizing homogeneous data, synced in real-time. Custom connections between SaaS platforms allow BSP to eliminate export/import processes and conflicting customer data, streamline processes and free up human capital resources, and ensure that the accounting department maintains full visibility into all aspects of business operations.

AT: What other major trends are you seeing in your space, and do you have strategic plans to capitalize on them?

A: One of the biggest trends that we have identified in 2017 is the surge of “Automation” solutions. As software matures and new code is constantly being pushed out to SaaS platforms, the evolution of automation processes is allowing users to achieve more results, in truncated timelines, while gaining greater insights from their data. We’re finding that businesses are shifting towards continuous close processes, drip marketing campaigns, Accounts Payable automation and other SaaS solutions that increase efficiencies and transparency.

Business Solution Partners was an early adopter of automation platforms like BlackLine and HubSpot. Our team members have dedicated themselves to learning the skills and developing the expertise necessary to not only deploy, customize and integrate these systems, but also to provide a high level of business process consulting to empower companies to take full advantage of these integrated systems. Our unique, verticalized experience for Manufacturers, Distributors, Medical Device, Pharmaceutical and Supplement Companies, Software Technology and Omni-Channel retail companies allows BSP to provide invaluable insights and proven methodologies based on deep industry knowledge.
